Plus, the stereo has been upgraded to an Alpine AM/FM/CD unit. There's a full set of gauges, including a 120 mph speedometer - and this truck will probably use most of that! The Lightning received a reworked version of Ford's fuel-injected 5.8-liter V8. The true secret to this 351W is the heads and intake very similar to the GT-40 setup used on the Mustang Cobra. This is a replacement motor, and when they did the work, they not only added some cool details, like the powder coated intake, but there was even more power added. This is thanks to pieces like the MSD ignition and heat-wrapped headers feeding the full dual exhaust. The rear end on these were built to give this truck power take-offs, but this fast Ford also has a practical side, too. It's linked to a quick-shifting AOD four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. There's also power steering, power front disc brakes, and Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires attached to the Lightning's special 17-inch alloy wheels.
