Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1986 Mercedes-Benz SL-CLASS recalls can be found in this database. It may be useful to use online problems resource that shows automotive defect patterns, based on complaint data submitted by vehicle owners. The problems are organized into groups with data published by vehicle, component, and specific issue. See also an updated list of 1986 Mercedes-Benz SL-CLASS problems before buying a used car. In most cases, the recall is initiated by the manufacturer. But it also happens that it is forced to do so. The largest and most scandalous recall campaigns were those that were initiated by complaints and lawsuits from consumers through controlling state structures.

Additional options include chromed wheels, both tops, working air conditioning, and rear jump seats making this particular example a terrific weekend cruiser for local car shows in your area! History of the 1986 Mercedes Benz 560SL: Already made popular by the earlier designs, the new "R107" chassis SL quickly gained its popularity and sold exceptionally well in the US market. Due in part to its success and timeless styling, the R107 generation SL remains, even today, the longest running Mercedes SL body style with production models built from 1971 all the way through 1989! Details about this 1986 Mercedes Benz 560SL: Finished in elegant Black exterior (originally Astral Silver) with Medium Red Leather interior and matching Black hard and soft tops, this wonderfully well-kept 1986 560SL is equipped with a 5.6L Bosch fuel-injected aluminum V8 engine producing 227hp and 279 ft lbs of torque! Options include 4-speed automatic transmission, auxiliary hardtop and new canvass convertible top, climate controlled air conditioning, full dash instrumentation with outside temperature gauge, interior visor vanity mirrors, upgraded Alpine AM/FM/CD/XM stereo, power steering, power disc brakes, cruise control, fog lamps, power windows & locks, power outside passenger mirror, rear defrost, Anti-Lock braking system, and chromed 15" forged light alloy wheels with Yokohama Avid ENVigor all-season radial tires, and rear jump seat option! This classic and increasingly desirable Mercedes 560SL roadster is in outstanding mechanical condition and ready to drive anywhere! Beginning in 2015, both fuel pumps were replaced along with all new spark plugs, then fuel pump hoses as well as air pump secondary valve in 2018. It also received a new subframe bushing kit, new Interstate battery, transmission cooling hose, and front brake service at that time. More recently in June 2019, it was serviced by Foreign Car Specialists in Madison, Wisconsin to include a full fuel system replacement at 74,874 miles. This included all new mechanical fuel injectors, injector o-rings, injector seals, cold start valve & gasket, idle air hoses, air distribution hose, fuel pump relay, and fuel pump regulator. Today, it shows only 74,920 original miles and continues to drive as new! It comes complete with original owner's manual, recent service documentation, clean accident free CarFax report, top operation instructions, one top wrench, original Mercedes gas cap, and front license plate bracket. It shows only subtle wear obvious of a vehicle that has been enjoyed and used over the years. It retains all original Mercedes & Sekurit window glass, with the front windshield showing some staining etched into the upper portion. All of our cars are advertised locally and nationally. St. Louis Car Museum reserves the right to end any listing early upon receipt of deposit. Please do not hesitate to call us with questions or to discuss securing a vehicle.
